About

McCauley Family Photo

We have been missionaries in Austria with Greater Europe Mission for 10 years, since 2002.

Our desire is to see God work through us so that 2 Timothy 2:2 is lived out. We want to see Austrian and European believers discipled and equipped for the work of ministry, so that Austria will be reached with the gospel.

Since Austria has very few Christians (less than .5%), the evangelical churches are not large and are lacking Austrian leadership. Yet in recent years, we have seen a growing desire from Austrians and those living here to be involved in ministry.

Eric’s primary ministry is working at the Evangelical Academy, a formal Bible school which seeks to train Austrians to pastor, teach and church plant, as these areas are sorely lacking in the young church here. Secondarily, Eric works with the church-based training organization Bible training on Location (Biblische Ausbildung am Ort or BAO) which provides discipleship materials as well as leadership level courses to be used within the local church.

During the eight years Eric has worked with the Evangelical Academy, we have seen Austrians involved with evangelism and discipleship as well as stepping into church leadership positions. Eric mentors and coaches the faculty and students at the Evangelical Academy.  He works on editing and writing church-based courses that reach over 1,000 Europeans each year with BAO.

We have a passion for the local church and are active in our local Austrian church. Christy is busy with our two children. Ministry has morphed for her throughout our years here, depending upon the ages of our kids, so over the years she has been involved in women’s outreach, arranging a team for a summer evangelistic English camp, and building relationships with women inside and outside of the church, as well as helping new missionaries settle in. She offers a listening ear and prays that God will work through her words to share the gospel as well as disciple those who already know Jesus.
